Hope you have a happy one!”Artist Bob Hesser, signed on back and marked over.Date Unknown, est 1970s.Looks like gouache on board.The actual art image measures 5” x 5” — matted to 11x14” and ready to frame.Fravessi Greetings was founded in the late 1920s by entrepreneurial woman Essie Govett and later became Fravessi Lamont with Jean Lamont Woodland. They operated out of New Jersey and the company is no longer in business. Over the years Fravessi commissioned thousands of beautiful illustrations to be used in the production of their greeting cards and stationary. Many of these pieces have never been seen or appreciated in all their glory. The production samples show how far printing reproduction still had to go in capturing the fine details and vibrancy of these originals. These are each a mini masterpiece that helped to carry loving messages around the world for generations.Collecting and appreciating the fine work from professional commercial illustrators from days gone by is both clever and satisfying.Thank you for loving vintage illustration art as much as we do! :-)
