Correctly using heat shrink is easier than you may think. Once ready apply steady heat from a safe distance and continually move your heat source to prevent burning. If you apply too much heat to the heat shrink it may bubble or burn. By staying at a safe distance, you can completely activate the heat shrink without burning it. Additionally, too much heat can damage the insulation of the wire or cable you are working with.
