I love Halloween and candy! The only thing about the holiday that has been bumming me out lately—I can’t eat all the beautiful, colorful treats! This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small portion of sales, at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting my blog through your purchase! I have food allergies, so it’s hard to find allergy-friendly candies in festive packaging. (I thought it was in fact impossible until I learned that these allergy-free snacks existed. I’m thinking I need to try them…) And even if I make my own desserts, they’re often monochromatic. (I mean, I love chocolate, but part of the fun of a holiday is dressing up your desserts.) It’s proven hard to find natural food coloring that doesn’t taste funky, so I needed to get creative to find other ways to make my desserts scream Halloween. I wanted to think of a way to add some pumpkin orange, pretty purple, and candy-corn yellow to my Halloween baking. So, I thought up the idea of making these wraparound labels perfect for labeling canning jars! I’m pretty dang excited to use them, and I hope you are too! I’ll let you know how to download them at the end of this post. The wider labels fit one pint canning jars, and the narrower ones are the best fit for shorter half-pint jelly jars. The labels are easy to cut out, and in addition to the options with Halloween sayings, I’ve included blank labels in this printable, so you can customize to your heart’s content! (PS you can find another idea for using mason jars in this post.) I’m going to fill my decorated jars with yummy baked goods. I’m thinking homemade peanut butter cups, cookie dough truffles, and fudge. Or some delicious vegan caramel for dipping apples. (Let me know what spooky-good things you’re whipping up in the comments!) You can write in the names of the treats on the labels I’ve left blank. These will also make perfect containers for delivering gifts to neighbors and friends. I’m thinking I’ll do a “reverse trick or treat” and pop by my grandma’s house with a jar of goodies to share. Here are some additional ideas for using these printables: Party Décor—Put silverware in labeled canning jars at the snack station. Non-Candy Treats —These labels are perfect for sharing allergy-friendly fun with party guests and trick-or-treaters. Get ideas for non-food goodies for kids from the Teal Pumpkin Project. My printables would look cute around a packet of pencils, a bottle of bubbles, or a paper bag of small toys. Candle Decorations—Wrap around a battery-operated pillar candle for a pop of color. Place Cards—Use as a napkin ring or tape to a paper cup. Write guests’ names in the middle of each label. (The narrow printable would work best for these.) Hope you have a frightfully fun time this Halloween! PS Get more ideas on my Halloween Pinterest board. Thought of other ways to use these printables?
