The yarnstory: When we decided to partner with Adella of LolaBean Yarn Co. for our first Knit Stars project wall, Shelley asked Adella, “What is your dream 'larn'?” (Lola's word for yarn). Together they developed a dreamy fingering-weight base of 80% merino + 10% cashmere + 10% silk. And Dream Bean was born! Fast forward to 2020, when Gaye “GG” Glasspie and Adella decided to work together on Season 5 of Knit Stars. GG has always supported women-led businesses, especially ones with family in the foreground. When someone asks what makes Adella’s yarn so special to her, GG almost always replies “I swear she bathes the yarn in Lola’s bathwater…” and then promptly bursts out laughing. The yarn: This listing is for LolaBean's hand-dyed colors on the Dream Bean base along with the solid colorways Adella curated, which were dyed by our friends in Peru to pair with her hand-dyed colors. Fiber: 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% SilkWeight/Length: 100 g, 437 yds (400m)Gauge Designation: FingeringGauge/Needle Size: US 4 (3.5mm)Care: Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry ****************************************************************************** Musselburgh by Ysolda Teague @ysolda This double-layer beanie has been made by Ravelers over 14,000 times!!! The cashmere and silk combined with the superwash merino creates a fabric that can't be beat! The bottom-up knit has garter stitch short-row shaping that adds interest to the shoulders and comfy three-quarter sleeves. The sweater is knit on size US 4 (3.5mm) needles and has finished body circumferences of 64 (68, 68, 68, 76, 76, 76) inches; 160 (170, 170, 170, 190, 190, 190) cm. To knit your Boxy, you will need 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins of LolaBean Dream Bean. The Boxy pattern by Joji Locatelli is available for purchase on Ravelry. ******************************************************************************* Dueling Skeins by Loretta McCollough @knitstars A super simple shawl gets a big lift when knit with two luxurious yarns! The light-as-a-feather stockinette shawl is knit on size US 4 (3.5mm) needles and has ribbed edgings to prevent rolling. After blocking, the shawl measures a generous 14in (36cm) wide x 72in (185cm) long. The first half of the shawl is knit with one skein of Dream Bean, and the second half is knit with one skein of Loops Luxe Smoothie. The Dueling Skeins pattern by Loretta McCollough is available for purchase on Ravelry. **************************************************************************** Paint the Town by Annie Baker Designs @anniebakerdesigns Paint the Town is a colorwork scarf, knit from end to end using three colors of fingering weight yarn. To knit Paint the Town, you'll need 1 skein each of three colors. We used hand-dyed Goldrush, plus solids Grey Day and Olive You. Pattern calls for a US size 2.5 (3mm) needle. The finished size after blocking is 17 inches (43cm) wide by 72 inches (183cm) long. The Paint the Town pattern by Annie Baker Designs is available for purchase on Ravelry.
