In stock. The OPTIONAL Large Wand gives you the ability to read many coins in numismatic slabs as small as 1/4 oz, smaller than can be read on the pro unit with any other sensor. It is not possible to read coins under 1/4 oz in slabs typically.  Raw coins as small as 8 mm can be read under the small bridge or with the small wand. The large wand is recommended if you deal with a lot of slabbed coins. The Sigma Precious metal verifier is designed to test coins and bullion but generally not jewelry or scrap metals.  For jewelry testing consider the Kee Gold Tester shown under " Shop" --> "Gold Testers" at the top of the page.  Also consider a Sigma Kee bundle for greater versatility.  The Precious Metal Verifier Pro has been developed to greatly enhance the capabilities of the original PMV. It makes four separate measurements that ensure that the coin or bar contains valid metal. We now measure surface resistivity, and the resistivity all the way through the coin at the same time. No more worries about the depth of the buried metal. We measure the thickness of the metal, even for coins in plastic holders. Also, if the weight is entered, the density can be verified to be correct by measuring coin or bar dimensions directly on the instrument. In many cases we can do this even for coins in holders. With these additional checks, you will find greatly increased security using the Precious Metal Verifier Pro. This Unit also includes a two additional testing wands for greater versatility, a Refiners wand that detects metal under the surface 1.5 times deeper than the current Bullion wand. This is for use with bars larger than 1kg. We will also offer a Microwand which can measure small items down to a width of 3.5 mm. Pro units will not test slabbed coins less than one oz without the large wand (optional).  Original Sigmas will test many slabbed coins down to 1/4 oz with the large wand. No Sigma will test slabbed coins less than 1/4 oz.
