Sound deadening is a multi-layer solution that will help lower the volume slightly while making it sound less hollow. It is the perfect option for those looking for as quiet a build as possible, but also great for those that want a good thocky setup but want to hear the switch - not the case. Sound deadening already has case foam, so no need to add it!

Please note: Sound deadening is not going to make a bad sounding switch, sound better. It simply lowers the volume and removes the empty hollow tone from the case. It will not mask spring ping from an unlubed switch.

Case Foam (aka sound dampening) is for those looking to subdue the tone of the board a bit. this upgrade adds a laser cut FlexiEVA complete foam kit to the board. This addition will make the board sound a bit less hollow, and a bit more solid with a subdued tone. It is not silencing material - it just shapes the tone.

Deadening details:

We crafted a unique solution for the Advantage 360 that layers a hybrid blend of our Stab Pad material, along with a FlexiEVA top layer to both quiet, and shape the tone inside the board.

  • Hybrid Silicone lining the top and bottom case
  • 3.5mm Thumb keywell plate foam
  • Switch pads (when needed) on the thumb switches

We layer the top and bottom of the case in a custom molded thick layer which is backed with 3M adhesive to help it mold around the curves of the board. Layered on top of our Stab Pads is a 1mm thick layer of FlexiEVA foam to dampen even further. This makes a noticeable change in the volume of the board. It will not silence a noisy switch, but it will lower the volume a bit of anything that is installed. If you are trying to make the quietest keyboard you can, or just want to tame the thock a little - this is the choice for you.

Case Foam details:

  • 3.5mm Thumb keywell plate foam
  • 2.5 and 3.5mm Case foam kit

Please do not select the Tempest mod with sound deadening. It will have clearance issues. Orders with both will result in the tempest mod being canceled.

The Advantage360 utilizes the Gateron Brown stem low-force tactile key switches. “Tactility” is a slightly elevated force around the midpoint of the stroke of the key which lets you know the switch is about to be activated. A tactile response is preferred by many ergonomists, because it cues your fingers that activation is about to occur and can reduce the frequency of “bottoming out” the switch with a hard impact.
