All elements of the textile, from the creating the threads to the set up of the loom, is done by hand - it is a true skill to master. One of the first things you notice in a traditional loom workshop is the noise. It's a heavy clacking sound coming from the weavers as they use pedals to move the threads on the wooden frames.
