The radishes are fermented with a lactic acid bacteria called Leuconostoc kimchii. Leucidal® Liquid or Radish Root has been shown to provide mild protection against bacteria, mold, and yeasts, making it a great natural alternative to synthetic preservatives. It has a light scent, a pale yellow color, and is water-soluble. If you are protecting your own homemade skincare, you still need to test your formulation to determine the exact percentage of antimicrobials needed. This is a mild antimicrobial and may not fully protect against all bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Depending on your formulation, you may need to combine Radish Root with another preservative to fully protect your product. We recommended a usage rate of 4%- especially if you are a beginner.
